Nokia Concept Phones

Nokia keeps trying to push the bounds of design and function. Sometimes it works out well, like the stainless steel 8800 with precision ball bearings in it's slide. Other times it falls a little short, like the 3650 with it's rotary-esque keypad (Oh to add on a functional rotary dial, but I digress). Nokia has released five more potential designs for future prototyping recently at their Nseries Blog. Some are a little lacking in visual design until you read a little more and see that the entire phone is to be built with recycled materials. These three though stand out  in my mind for some interesting design.

The Dragonfly

A great homage to the insect world, the Dragonfly mimics it's real life counterpart with a prominent row of keys in the middle. I could also see it's futuristic design cropping up with Star Trek fans at a local sci-fi convention...

The Scentsory Concept
I'll skip over the Smell-O-Vision capabilities here. However, if they could produce a working prototype of an origami style folding phone I'd be really impressed.

The Kinetic Concept
Sleek, smooth, and very minimalist, the kinetic oozes sex appeal. Adding to that appeal is the little electromagnet in the base which shifts the phone's center of gravity allowing it to stand up on it's own when someone calls. It's definitely an attention getter.
